If you are interested in graduate study at the University of Northern Iowa, start here for an overview of the application process and the various programs offered.
Worldwide Web
There are many sites that have done the research for you. Different resources varying from general search engines (Yahoo, Altavista, WebCrawler, etc.) to specific links (Peterson's Guides, Catapult, Kaplan, etc.) can assist you in your search for graduate programs. We have compiled a group of hyperlinks to get you started.
UNI Career Services
This office has a variety of resources to assist your search as well (i.e. Peterson's Guides, area specific catalogs (College Student Personnel, Political Science, Psychology, and a variety of other print resources). Search for keywords such as graduate school, medical school, law school. Students may also consult directly with professional staff who can also give insight regarding the job market for specific fields.
Talk with Current Grad Students
Other great resources are the graduate students who are currently in the program of interest to you. They offer an up-to-date perspective of the program and their unique experiences within the program.
Talk with Faculty
It is also helpful to talk with faculty members who hold the graduate degree(s) you are seeking. They may be able to provide insight into what graduate schools have strong programs and what their experience has been in the job market for that field.
