Requesting Materials
Writing to the School
You may decide that it is easiest to begin by writing an inquiry letter to the graduate school. This step may take longer but it is still an option. A direct phone inquiry may get things moving more quickly
Check the Web
Another possibility is to locate the graduate school's web page which usually contains names, addresses, phone numbers, and often e-mail addresses to the programs in which you are interested.
Use the Telephone
If you would rather talk with someone from the graduate school directly, call that specific department and/or the graduate college. This is beneficial because you have the opportunity to ask questions to which you would like immediate answers. If you decide to call, have your questions ready! A direct phone inquiry allows you to clarify confusing details about the application process. Be sure to consider time zones if you are calling outside of the state in which you are presently living.
Visit the Library
The UNI Rod Library has a variety of graduate bulletins that have detailed listings of programs offered at different institutions. Also, if you have Adobe Acrobat Reader, you can view these catalogs on-line at College Source.
