Office of Career Services
The UNI Career Fair has been rescheduled for Thursday, February 27, 2014 (11am - 3pm, McLeod Center).

Get Involved with UNI

Instead of driving across the Midwest to locate interns and employees, the University of Northern Iowa makes it easy to recruit all majors in one place. With recognized programs across campus, you will find that hiring purple make sense.

In addition to hiring, we encourage you to engage UNI students as you give time, talent, or treasure.

Be a Career Advisor of the Day. UNI Career Services invites one company per week to provide career advisor services for a day. This may include resume critiques, mock interviews, a topic presentation. All details are arranged and provide a nice opportunity for your organization to get your name to students. Contact Career Services for more information.

Speak to Classes. If you have a topic that could fit within a curriculum, UNI Career Services can help you find faculty who would be willing to have you speak or be added to our speakers list. The only restriction is that if you are giving a lecture on a topic, while you represent your organization, the lecture is not focused on your organization. Contact Career Services for more information.

UNI Leadership Center. Student organizations provide a great opportunity to meet with the best students on campus. UNI Career Services has partnered with the UNI Leadership Center to provide leadership training. UNI Leadership always welcomes input and volunteers.

Hire a Liaison. Word-of-mouth/grassroots is the best way to spread a message on-campus. Many organizations have hired a successful intern to return to campus to serve as a campus liaison, answer questions, speak to student groups, and provide a presence for your organization. Some employers pay by the hour, others provide a small scholarship or stipend ($500-1000) for the student.
