Registering for the Co-op/Internship Program

There are several steps to take in getting registered for the program:

1. Attend a co-op orientation meeting or watch online.

2. Complete the on-line faculty approval form and submit it electronically to the Co-op Education/Internship Program. Prior to to completing the form, review the Academic Department Co-op Requirements for any departments you are considering that might allow you to earn co-co credit. If you meet the requirements, your faculty approval form will be forwarded on to the appropriate faculty member for their review.

3. Go to UNI CareerCat and sign in.

Once you are fully registered for co-op and accepted into UNI CareerCat you will:

  • Have full access through the Internet to the co-op/internship positions listed with the Cooperative Education/Internship Program.
  • Be able to identify and sign up through the Internet for on-campus co-op interviews opportunities for which you qualify.
  • Have your materials referred to employers requesting applicants with your qualifications.
  • Be eligible to receive co-op credit if the internship you locate is of sufficient quality to meet your academic department's quality standards.
  • Transcript Notation Option for an Internship

      This option allows a student to have an internship noted on their transcript without requiring the student to register for credit.  To set up arrangements for Transcript Notation contact 273-6041 or 273-6857 at the very beginning, or prior to, the start of the internship.
