20 Best Internships On-Campus for 2009-2010

These 20 internships pay $9/hr. for 15 hrs/week for two semesters and are valued at $4,050 each. They provide excellent experience and are great resume builders. Students selected must intern for fall 2009 and spring 2010 semesters and register for co-op credit. Students registered in UNI CareerCat will be notified of positions by email during spring break and application will be made through CareerLink.

STUDENT GUIDELINES FOR APPLYING FOR THESE POSITIONS

Register with Career Services now so that you are notified by email of these 20 opportunities in mid-March. The Co-op/Internship Program home page contains helpful information including guidelines to register on-line.

There is no charge to register with the Career Services. You will receive a Username and Password by email.

Admittance into the Co-op/Internship Program is easy:

  • Meet Cooperative Education and Internship Program requirements including a 2.5 minimum GPA (unless otherwise stated)
  • Request co-op faculty approval electronically.
  • Post a resume on UNI CareerCat into “Document” that will be reviewed by appropriate staff or faculty for every position you apply for. Resumes will be used to determine which students receive an interview. Assistance with your resume can be arranged by calling 273-6857.

    The deadline to apply for these positions is April 5, 2009:

    • Access UNI CareerCat
    • Select the tab on top entitled “Employers” and then click on “Employers Search”
    • Type “20 on” for Employer Name (without the quotation marks) and hit “Search”
    • Click the position number(s) in the “Jobs” column for the internships you are interested in.
    • Click the “Apply” button for any of the 20 co-op positions you qualify for and are interested in. (Note: in addition to your resume, some positions may require additional materials such as a cover letter)

    Note: To apply, you must be eligible to earn co-op credit. If selected for one of these positions you must commit to intern for co-op credit for both semesters (fall and spring). If you have additional questions, please contact the Cooperative Education/Internship Program at 273-6041.
