Fairs and On-Campus Interviewing
Fairs
The UNI Academic Advising and Career Services Career Services sponsors a number of fairs during the year. Career and job fairs are held during fall and spring semsters and offer excellent opportunities to connect with UNI students who are looking for cooperative education and internship positions. If you would like to be included in the mailing list for these fairs, contact Academic Advising and Career Services by phone (319-273-6857), fax (319-273-6998) or email.
On-Campus Interviewing
You are welcome to come to campus to interview registered students for your co-op/intern positions. You may select the students you wish to interview through a closed or open selection process:
Closed
Students registered with the Co-op Program and possessing the background and qualifications you specify for the position can request that their resume be sent to you by e-mail for review. You receive the resumes of these interested students and decide which ones you want to interview.
If your interview is pre-select, you will need to inform us at least five weeks ahead of the intended interview date. The reason for this time frame is that pre-select interviews require several steps, all of which take time to be completed appropriately:
- your position needs to be posted on UNI CareerLink,
- qualified students need time to indicate their interest in being considered for the position,
- resumes from these students need to be sent to you for review; then
- you notify us which ones you want to interview, and
- selected students need to be notified and sign up for an interview time.
Open
Any student registered with the Co-op Program and possessing the background and qualifications you specify for the position can sign up for a space on the interview schedule. Manual sign-up interviews require less lead time than pre-select interviews.
