Updating your Profile
UNI CareerLink enables you to enter and store information about yourself using the Profile area. The Profile contains personal and academic information used by the career center in the recruitment process. Before beginning the job application process, you must enter information about yourself in the Profile area and upload your resume.
To enter information or edit your profile:
Click the Profile button on the main navigation bar to view/edit the Profile section.
You can edit your profile by clicking on the Edit Your Personal Information button.
Click the Save button on the edit page after making updates.
Be sure to fill in all sections of your profile (personal and academic information, career preferences, etc.).
Uploading Documents
Click the Documents button in the main navigation bar to upload and publish your documents.
Select document type to upload from the menu under Upload A Document
Click Next and find the document you want to upload and click Upload. Wait until status says “ready”
Select Publish a Resume from the Documents button in the main navigation bar.
Select your resume in the drop down list next to Co-op/Internship
Click Save
***You can post your resume to more than one book if you’d like.
Searching for Jobs or Internships
Click on job and internship search from the Jobs & Internships tab on the navigation bar
Click on Your Choice of Search in the More Searches Section
Narrow your search by selecting the search criteria (use Keyword, Industry, and/or choose more search options to search by majors).
Click Search
System returns the search results that satisfy your search criteria
Saving Jobs to Folders
When you find one or more job listings that you want to save, you can either save the job(s) to a new folder or an existing folder. To save jobs to a folder:
Use one of the available search methods to find jobs.
On the Job Search Results page, use the checkboxes to select the jobs you wish to save to a folder.
Use the "Save to Folder" drop-down menu to either select an existing folder or choose Create a New Folder.
If you save the jobs to an existing folder, you will see a Positions Saved Successfully page confirming that you have added to jobs to the selected folder. If you save the jobs to a new folder, the system opens the Create a New Folder page. Provide a name for the new folder and click on Save. The system will display the Positions Saved Successfully page confirming that you added the jobs to the new folder.
Managing Job Folders
To manage the contents of your existing folders, or to delete a folder, click on the View all of your job folders link on the Search for Opportunities page. This opens the Job Folders page. From the Job Folders page, you can:
Use the checkboxes to delete folders.
Click on a folder name to view the contents.
From the Folder Contents page, you can also create a new folder with selected jobs from the folder you have open.
Searching for Employers
Click on Employers on the navigation bar
You can search for employers by letter, name or by industry
How to Apply for a Job
Once you find a job and are eligible to apply for, follow the application instructions.
Signing up For Interviews
Click on the Applications tab on the navigation bar and select your active applications.
The Applications page displays with a list of your active applications
The status of your active applications is displayed in the Employer Decision column
Once an employer has “accepted” your job application, you may sign up for an interview slot
Note: If the Application Sign Up date hasn’t occurred, you must wait until that date to sign up for an interview slot.
Click on Sign Up
On the Application Details page, under Employer Decision, click on Sign up for Interview
On the Interview Sign Up Page, find the schedule date you would like to sign up for and select the radio button associated with the time slot you desire
Click Save and your slot is reserved
Note: If you do not want to accept the interview invitation, click on Decline this invitation for an interview. If you decline the invitation, your application will be withdrawn and you will not be able to reapply to the position. Click Decline to confirm your decision. BE SURE YOU WANT TO DECLINE BECAUSE YOU CANNOT REAPPLY!!!
