Using UNI CareerLink

UNI CareerLink is a web-based database management system that can connect you to your future! All that is needed to utilize UNI CareerLink is the internet and a graphical Web browser such as Netscape or Internet Explorer.

UNI CareerLink provides a strong link to prospective employers as well as access to resources that are critical to a successful search for a job or internship opportunity. You can:

  • Access UNI CareerLink 24 hours a day. Upload your resume to the website and make it available to over 4000 employers who have been given access by our office.
  • Interview with prospective employers on campus. On-campus interviews with visiting employers are scheduled through Career Services office and advertised on UNI CareerLink. UNI CareerLink allows qualified students and alumni to sign up online for on-campus interviews.
  • Be referred directly to positions at employer request. Career Services staff is asked to refer candidates directly to employers throughout the year. UNI CareerLink allows the generation of resume referrals based on employer needs and allows employers to access this data directly.
  • Access job and internship vacancies. Vacancies are posted on UNI CareerLink by Career Services staff and employers. Full-time, co-op/internship and graduate assistant/fellowship listings are included.
  • Apply electronically for positions. UNI CareerLink allows you to send your resume electronically to employers posting vacancies in the system.
  • Find information on industries, cities, careers, and salaries.

    How to login to UNI CareerLink

    Students: You can login at UNI CareerLink. For Username enter your full UNI email address, e.g. joepanther@uni.edu and for Password use the 2-digit month followed by the 2-digit day of your birthday, e.g. 0101 for January 1st birthday. Please contact Career Services (careercenter@uni.edu; 319-273-6857) if you experience login problems.

    Alumni: Complete the UNI Alumni CareerLink Registration Card and pay $20 annual, non-refundable registration fee. Your registration will run for one full year. Note:UNI Alumni Association members receive FREE ACCESS to CareerLink. If you do not know your member number or have questions regarding your membership status, please e-mail to info@unialum.org for more information.

    After login to UNI CareerLink, complete the "profile" section, upload your resume, and post it to a resume book.

     

    For Cooperative Education/Internship Registrants

  • Attend/complete a Co-op orientation session.
  • Complete Faculty Approval Form.
  • Register for Cooperative Education credit once position is obtained.
