Come help the Sturgis Youth Theatre dramatize this classic fairy tale featuring everyone’s favorite puppet, Pinocchio as he learns the value of hard work and friendship in his quest to become a real boy. There are plenty of parts for everyone who wants to participate.handprint

Here’s how it works! Simply register for the Sturgis Youth Theatre’s Summer Fun Production program BY MAIL ONLY beginning Friday May 1. Come to an organizational meeting for all camp participants on Sunday June 28 from 3:00-5:00 p.m.

All students who are successfully registered will be assigned THREE production assignments…two will focus on performance and the other will focus on a minor production assignment in the area of sets, props or costumes. All assignments will be made following the organizational meeting and will be shared at the June 30 rehearsal.

Rehearsals and production work will take place between June 29 and July 22 at the Strayer-Wood Theatre.

Times of rehearsals: 3:30-6:00 and 6:30-8:30 Monday thru Thursday, 3:30-6:00 p.m. Fridays, 1:00-6:00 Sundays July 12, and 19. No rehearsal July 3-July 5, and Saturdays July 11 or 18.

PLEASE NOTE: THIS SCHEDULE IS AN ATTEMPT TO BE AS FLEXIBLE AS POSSIBLE AND TO ALLOW FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF INDIVIDUAL REGISTRANT SCHEDULES THAT “WORK AROUND” BASEBALL, SOCCER, SWIM MEETS, ETC. Students are asked to be available for AT LEAST ONE OF THE REHEARSAL SESSIONS EACH WEEK DAY, and for at least ONE OF EACH OF THE WEEKEND REHEARSALS. Please note that student availability does impact casting options. EVERYONE MUST BE AVAILABLE ALL TIMES BEGINNING SUNDAY JULY 19, NO EXCEPTIONS.

Individualized rehearsal schedules will be developed by the director for each participant after the organizational meeting. Every attempt will be made to work with each student as best as possible. However, I CANNOT work around lengthy vacation schedules. If you are planning a family vacation OR will be out of town and unavailable to rehearse three or more consecutive days PLEASE DO NOT REGISTER. Sorry, no exceptions.

Public performances will be held at the Strayer-Wood Theatre, on the UNI campus in Cedar Falls:

Interns should be available the same days/times as outlined for the rehearsal and performance schedule. Registrations for interns will be accepted on a first come basis and will be limited to 10. NO TELEPHONE REGISTRATONS PLEASE.
