July 19-25, 2009
University of Northern Iowa
Gretchen Brumwell and Jacquelyn Venter Ridder

Who may attend?

Enrollment is limited to twelve students, entering grades 8-12. No audition is necessary, though students should be at least at an intermediate level of study. Music will be chosen and assigned based on each student’s level and will be mailed out prior to the start of camp.

What will the week be like?

Students will participate in harp ensemble, duets or trios, private lessons, individual practice, and classes focusing on orchestra skills. Recreational activities will be planned for the evenings. The week will end with a recital of the students’ work. Students arrive on a Sunday afternoon and depart on the following Saturday afternoon, following the concluding recital.

What about meals and lodging?

Students will stay in a university residence hall, under the supervision of a counselor. Meals will be provided.

Do I need to bring my harp?

Yes, if it is practical to do so. A limited number of harps are available on a first-come, first-served basis. (A $25 harp rental fee for the week applies.)

What is the cost?

$415. This includes tuition, room, board, all instruction, and evening activities.
