Review a Journal Article

Procedure

Locate an empirical article relevant to organizational psychology from a scholarly journal. The article should come from a recent issue of the journal. An article is empirical if it has a "Method" and "Results" section. Some relevant journals carried by Rod Library include Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Journal of Applied Psychology, Personnel Psychology, and Journal of Vocational Behavior. I believe that electronic versions of all of these journals are available.

Product

Write a 2-3 page review of the article in your own words, reviewing each of the sections:

Introduction: Summarize the background, purpose, and hypotheses of the study.

Method: Identify the DV's and IV's and how they were measured or manipulated. (If the study was correlational, there will be no IV's.)  Briefly, summarize the procedure.

Results: Summarize important effects and support for hypotheses. Do not include statistics.

Discussion: Summarize the theoretical and/or practical consequences of the results

Attach your highlighted copy of the article to the paper you turn in.
