Athletic Training Outcomes Research Lab

Facilities and Equipment

HPC PictureThe Human Performance Center (HPC) is due to open the Fall of 2007. Overall, the new facility is a 33,000 square foot addition between the current Wellness and Recreation Center and UNI-Dome at a cost of $7million.

 

The new facility will boast over 4300 square feet of space dedicated to the ATEP. This will include administrative and faculty offices, the new Athletic Training Outcomes Research Laboratory, a cadaver lab, and a dedicated technological classroom. Students' clinical experiences will also be enhanced with over 3100 square feet dedicated to a new athletic training room and a 1200 square foot hydrotherapy room. Click Here to see a schematic. In addition, Cedar Valley Medical Specialists will further enhance athletic training student clinical instruction with the addition of an orthopaedic clinic and physical therapy services.

 

Laboratory Equipment Includes:

  1. AMTI Accusway force plate, ATMI Inc., Watertown, MA, coupled with a computer utilizing SWAYWIN software (Version 1.4).
  2. Case IV Quantitative Sensory Testing Equipment, WR Medical Electronics, Stillwater, MN, coupled with a lab top computer that runs software.
  3. Biodex - isokinetic testing equipment and coupled software
  4. GPS Units
  5. Volumetric Tank
  6. 10 Actilife Accelerometers
  7. 40 BioTrainers accelerometers
  8. 40 Pedometers
  9. 4 desktop computers
  10. 5 Laptop computers
  11. 2 touch screen monitors
  12. vonFrey Filaments sensory testing equipment
  13. Pressure Algometer
  14. Nicholas Manual Muscle Tester
  15. Hand Grip Dynamometer
  16. Long-arm anthropometer
  17. Digital scale
