Crit Streed Professor of Art painting and drawing Crit Streed (BA University of Northern Iowa, MFA University of Iowa) teaches painting and drawing at UNI. In addition, she has also taught encaustic painting at artists’ workshops, among them Penland School of Crafts in North Carolina, and Arrowmont School of Art in Tennessee. Professor Streed credits her artistic instincts to being raised in Iowa, coupled with extensive traveling and living experiences around the world. As a recipient of both institutional and state grants and national fellowships that provide Artist Residencies, she has also produced work that explores the conventions of both drawing and inter-media installations. She has exhibited extensively in national competitions that were juried by prominent curators, as well as in many solo exhibitions in both private and public institutions. Her exhibition record includes such international venues as the Universidade de Evora in Portugal, and the Rufino Tamyo Instituto in Oaxaca, Mexico. She currently exhibits at A.I.R. Gallery in New York City. Her drawings are included in the Viewing Program at The Drawing Center in NYC; the Archives of the Smithsonian Institute, New York; A.I.R.
