Jeffery Byrd (BFA University of Alabama, MFA University of Florida) is Head of the Department of Art.  He is a performance and video artist who has presented work all over the globe. He has exhibited in over 75 group exhibitions and 15 solo exhibitions; has performed at such notable venues as Lincoln Center in New York and the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston; and has participated in festivals in major cities throughout the US and in Canada, Mexico, Columbia, Germany, Switzerland, Poland, Italy, China and the UK.












  

Professor Byrd is a frequent lecturer at art schools and universities, including Parsons, The New School for Design in New York, School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, University of the Arts in Philadelphia, the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and the Cardiff School of Art and Design in Wales. His work has been featured in books published by Simon & Schuster, Brown & Benchmark, and Rizzoli International. His writing on experimental music appears in Women in Music in America since 1900: An Encyclopedia (Greenwood Press) and the journal Performance Research.  Jeffery Byrd
