How to Drop a Class?
Important Deadlines are in place for adding and dropping classes. Review the "Dates to Observe" section of the appropriate semester's Schedule of Classes book or the Calendar from the Office of the Registrar for specific dates.
To Drop a Full Semester (16 week) Course from your Schedule
Any adjustment to your schedule should be made as early in the first week of classes as possible. Visit with your assigned academic advisor, or visit Academic Advising to discuss how dropping a class would affect your progress at the University.
You may drop a class from MyUNIverse through the first five (5) instructional days of the semester.
A "change of registration fee" is assessed (one fee assessment per day) for courses added and dropped after the fifth instructional day of the semester.
To drop a course from your schedule after the fifth (5) instructional day, a Change of Registration Form must be completed and submitted to the Office of the Registrar. A signature is not required from the instructor of the class(es) being dropped.
Review the "Dates to Observe" for the current semester for specific deadlines for dropping a class with a grade of "W" or with a grade of "F"
To Drop a Half Semester or Summer Session Course
The process is the same for dropping these classes; however, the deadlines for adding half-semester or summer session courses are adjusted a proportionately equal amount of time to reflect the shorter length of time (less than 16 weeks) of the course. See the "Dates to Observe" section of the appropriate semester's Schedule of Classes book or the Calendar from the Office of the Registar for dates for specific semesters.
