How Do I Add a Class?

Important Deadlines are in place for adding and dropping classes. Review the "Dates to Observe" section of the appropriate semester's Schedule of Classes book or the Calendar from the Office of the Registrar for specific dates.

To Add a Full Semester (16 week) Course to Your Scehedule
Any adjustment to your schedule should be made as early in the first week of classes as possible. You may add a full-semester course with open seats, without approval, from MyUNIverse through the first seven (7) instructional days of the semester.

How do I get into a closed course or a section with no open seats?

A "change of registration fee" is assessed (one fee assessment per day) for courses added and dropped after the fifth (5) instructional day of the semester.

To add a course to your schedule after the seventh (7) instructional day, a signature from the instructor and/or academic department on a Change of Registration Form would be required. When completed, this form is submitted to the Office of the Registrar.

The last day to add a full semester course for credit for any student is the end of the third week of the semester.

To Add a Half Semester or Summer Session Course
The process is the same for adding these classes; however, the deadlines for adding half-semester or summer session courses are adjusted a proportionately equal amount of time to reflect the shorter length of time (less than 16 weeks) of the course. See the "Dates to Observe" section of the appropriate semester's Schedule of Classes book or the Calendar from the Office of the Registar for dates for specific semesters.
