Advising Network
Purpose
The Advising Network, convened by the Chair of the Academic Advising Council, is a campus-wide association that facilitates communications among staff and faculty advisors regarding issues, policies, and procedures related to advising. The purpose of the Advising Network is to:
- Coordinate the delivery of information to staff and faculty advisors across campus
- Enhance knowledge and expertise related to advising across the university
- Foster cooperation, collaboration and coherence among staff and faculty advisors
- Serve as an information-gathering center for advising efforts and issues across campus
- Promote and recognize the importance and role of advising as an integral part of a student's education
- Provide a forum to discuss advising-related issues and concerns
- Gather and assess feedback from staff and faculty advisors regarding resources that would enhance advising effectiveness
