Academic Preparation

Visit the following College websites for transfer guidelines into majors in the various departments at UNI. If you have questions about courses you have taken and how they apply toward your major, you should talk to an academic advisor or the head of the department.

College of Business Administration

UNIBusiness offers an array of academic programs providing basic business knowledge and the initial career insights that lead toward a meaningful, productive professional life. A broad list of programs suggests some of the possibilities and responsibilities in business careers. With the addition of the professional readiness program, internship experiences, study abroad, and campus organization activities, students can develop all the skills needed to compete following graduation. Explore the many academic options at UNIBusiness.

College of Education

UNI's College of Education (COE) is known for having some of the most innovative teacher education programs in the country. Year after year, our graduates are hired as teachers, principals and superintendents across the state, nation and around the world.

College of Humanities, Arts & Sciences

From art to physics to theatre, the College of Humanities, Arts and Sciences at the University of Northern Iowa offers a host of dynamic majors in the arts, humanities, mathematics, sciences and technology. CHAS majors at UNI enjoy the best of two worlds: the advantages of a large university (a variety of programs and the latest technology) with the benefits of a private college (small classes and close connections to faculty).

Division of Continuing Education and Special Programs

The mission of the Office of Continuing and Distance Education is to expand access to high-quality educational opportunities available from the University of Northern Iowa through the use of a variety of methods and technologies and the provision of exemplary support services. We accomplish our mission by providing leadership in the planning, promotion, support, and administration of credit courses and programs that fall outside of “traditional” on-campus coursework. Our offerings are delivered online, via interactive video, at off-campus locations, or through a blended approach.
