Thank you for your interest in the Student Admissions Ambassadors. Every semester, we are excited by the number of applications we receive. We have two membership selection drives every year (fall and spring). Application deadlines will be posted on the homepage. Applications and references can be submitted via the internet or submitted to the Admissions Office in hard copy form.

What does SAA do for the University?
The Ambassadors are the official student representatives of the University of Northern Iowa. In this role, Student Ambassadors give campus tours, conduct panels, and host a variety of campus activities through the UNI Admissions Office, The Office of the President, and the UNI Foundation.
What kind of time commitment is involved?
Ambassadors are required to give one tour per week (1 hour). They are also required to attend a bi-weekly meeting, held every other Tuesday night at 9:00PM. Beyond that, everything else is voluntary (i.e. Lunch Bunch, panels, Preview Days, special tours, etc.) While only the weekly tour and the bi-weekly meetings are mandatory, we RELY on our Ambassadors to volunteer for additional things. The number of additional things an Ambassador volunteers for may depend on their course schedule, work schedule, etc. An Ambassador's level of involvement may change from one semester to the next, depending on their schedule.
What kind of person is a Student Ambassador?
The Student Admissions Ambassadors seek to reflect the student body at the University of Northern Iowa. Therefore, we seek friendly, articulate, welcoming individuals of diverse majors, hometowns, personalities, and backgrounds. The one thing that ALL Ambassadors will have in common is a love for UNI.
