I chose UNI because of the perfect size. Not too big, not too small. The community is so welcoming and everyone at UNI is very involved. There are so many opportunities to get involved.
The people. I have gotten to know and become friends with so many individuals. These are the people I will keep in touch with when I graduate.
The athletic events and all music/art/ensemble events are free for students.
I am involved in Student Admissions Ambassadors, Colleges Against Cancer and a number of honor programs within the teaching major. I have gotten to meet so many people passionate about the same things as I am while being able to be involved in what I love to do.
I am so happy that I chose the teaching program at UNI. My professors have been amazing and have inspired me to be so involved in the teaching career. I have had many opportunities to get to work with community and area schools and students during every semester here so that I can teach them the information I learn during my college courses.
I get to work with kids, read children’s books and create many crafts!
I am becoming equipped to make a difference in students’ lives.
The walk from the West Gym to the Campanile. It is so beautiful in the fall!
Have a planner, and make sure you study. College classes have a lot more going on than high school classes.
The relationships that I have made with my professors and classmates and all of the organizations and events I was a part of. And of course getting to see my Panther basketball team in the SWEET 16!
The financial aid office has helped me with many scholarship opportunities as well as the questions I had about loans and my u-bill. They are here to help college be affordable for students especially when having to pay for college on their own.
I hope to become a wonderful elementary teacher and to have a fun and exciting classroom environment with all of the tools, ideas and resources my professors have given me.
