On-Campus Lodging
Students and parents have the option of staying overnight in a University residence hall between the two days of orientation.
STUDENTS
Students will be housed in a double room in Rider Hall with one other student of the same gender. Staying on-campus during
orientation provides more opportunities for getting to know other new UNI students, interacting with current students, and
enjoying informal social activities in the evening. Students who stay overnight during orientation indicate they are more
comfortable with their choice to attend UNI and feel better prepared to start college.
Rider Hall is not air conditioned, so plan to bring a fan if you will be staying overnight on campus. Each person will
be provided a pillow, pillowcase, bedspread, towel, and a washcloth. Please note that accommodations are not comparable to
those found in hotels (no TV, air conditioning, etc.).
PARENTS
Parents choosing to stay on-campus are assigned to a single room in Rider Hall, in an area separate from where students are staying. As with student rooms, accommodations are not comparable to those found in hotels (no TV, air conditioning, etc.). For parents who wish to stay off campus, lists of area hotels are available through the Cedar Falls Tourism and Visitors Bureau at http://www.cedarfallstourism.org/sleep.asp or 800-845-1955
