Discuss and Discover Diversity

Iowa Radio Reading Information Service (IRIS)
Read the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier on radio for the blind, visually impaired and print handicapped in our local area. UNI KHKE-FM is a satellite location. Project Chair - Barbara Cardamon

Promoting Global Awareness
Discuss an issue of international importance using the Great Discussions program at the Cedar Falls Public Library the third Tuesday evening of the month. Co-sponsored by the Cedar Valley United Nations Association. Project Chair - Gloria Tollefson

Rawandan Student Support
Support a UNI senior student from Rwanda throughout the school year by contributing school supplies, a bicycle, book and lab fees.

Jacque is a senior at UNI and a refugee from Rwanda,
Africa. Jacque is in the United State with an asylum status, having fled Rwanda during the awful genocide. Jacque would like to move forward toward United States citizenship but she needs help. She has worked very hard during her time in our country to learn our language and do well in college while working as many hours as possible to support herself.

Project Chairs Mary Dove and Judy Beckman

Woman's Rights at the United Nations
A program is being planned in conjunction with the Cedar Valley United Nations Association which will focus on how the United Nations works globally to promote woman's rights around the world. Project Chair Maureen White
