Major: Elementary Education Teaching
Occupation: Substitute Teacher/Carroll Area
Hometown: Carroll County

Why did you choose the UNI/DMACC/Carroll 2+2 program?

The main reason was I had heard the DMACC/Carroll elementary education program allowed college students to work more one-on-one with their professors. This was very true. Also, as a member of the Carroll community, I wanted to complete my field experiences and student teach in Carroll to become a bigger part of the community.

How has the program helped you professionally?

The program courses focus on a number of topics and the small class sizes mean instructors know more about you and are able to help students one-on-one. Students with families also benefit by completing their field experience and student teaching near home so they can spend time with their families as well as be students. I also think I will be able to improve my earning ability because of this program.

What opportunities did 2+2 open for you?

The biggest opportunity for me is my growth in self-confidence in the classroom and in life. I also believe that I can achieve life endeavors by keeping on and trying.  Another opportunity is the financial aspect. With the program in my hometown, I was able to live at home and save up for my future plans.
