Why did you choose the UNI/DMACC 2+2 program?

I decided I needed to be a role model for my children since I was always telling them they would go to college after high school. But I had to make it happen before my oldest graduated.  The UNI/DMACC 2+2 program made it possible.  I know if the program were not available at the Carroll campus, I would not have gone back to school.  Carroll was the perfect location.

How has the program helped you professionally?

If the opportunity to get an elementary education degree from the University of Northern Iowa had not been offered in Carroll, I would still be working at a low paying job and not allowing myself to become what I have always wanted to be: a teacher.

What opportunities did 2+2 open for you?

I plan to continue my education and get my reading endorsement. Because no teaching jobs are open in Manning, I’ll substitute there while I look into getting a special education endorsement.
