Why did you choose the UNI/DMACC/Carroll 2+2 program?

The 2+2 Program allowed me to continue my education close to home.  I have wanted to be a teacher for a long time, and knew that I would get my education from the University of Northern Iowa. This allowed me to do so without moving to Cedar Falls away from my husband and family.

How has the program helped you professionally?

I was able to familiarize myself with the surrounding school districts through field experiences.  This was a benefit because I am somewhat place-bound and curious about the school districts in my area. I will be able to have a full-time job that I am respected for in my community.

What opportunities did 2+2 open for you?

I knew it was necessary for me to have a full-time job while I attended classes, and the schedule of the 2+2 classes made it very easy for me to do so. I will stay relatively close to this geographical region to find a job.  My family is close and my husband and I are very comfortable where we live now.  My husband also has a place-bound job; another reason I’ll be looking locally for a job. This degree will help increase my household income and make a good living for our family.
