Why did you choose the UNI/DMACC 2+2 program?
Without this program there was no way that I could have pursued my dream to become a teacher. It took me a few years to talk myself into starting the program because of my age and stage of my life. I was apprehensive about many things in the beginning, but the UNI/DMACC/Carroll staff made me feel comfortable and gave me the confidence I needed to go after my dream.
How has the program helped you professionally?
The UNI/DMACC experience that I received was top notch in my book. The instructors all seemed to know where I was coming from. They knew that the cohort members had busy schedules and bent over backwards to show understanding towards us. They did not cut us any slack, but I felt better knowing they understood our situation. Because of 2+2, I plan to be a teacher for a long, long time. I may stay in elementary or I may move up the ladder to the higher grades. I just know I want to stay in the education field.
What opportunities did 2+2 open for you?
This education experience has given me confidence and perspective about the rest of my life. I now have a future in a dream job, doing something that I am good at and care about - children. I hope to be able to do this for the rest of my life. |
