POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

Instructor/Supervisor/Position

2 + 2 programs

University of Northern Iowa (UNI)

 

POSITION:  

Available August, 2007.   This is an academic year, three year term appointment.  Geographic location for this assignment is the rural Iowa Community of Carroll, Iowa.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Earned Masters Degree Required; Doctorate Preferred

  • At least two years experience with educational supervision and evaluation, school curriculum, teaching/learning processes, and instructional strategies.

  • At least three years of full-time successful teaching experience at elementary, secondary, and/or community college level(s).

  • At least two years experience in the networking of educators with background in computer conferencing.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Teach course(s) in appropriate academic discipline.

  • Serve as a liaison between UNI and DMACC/Carroll campus.

  • Coordinate/supervise student teachers in region of assignment.

  •  Participate in appropriate local and state gatherings where UNI needs representation in the DMACC district.

  • Work with practitioners on collaborative professional activities.

  • Identify and assist key individuals/advisors on DMACC/Carroll campus to recruit, register and support 2 + 2 students.

SALARY:

Salary dependent on qualifications.  Benefits include: IPERS or TIAA-CREF, group life, disability, dental and hospital/medical insurance.
