Location: Nicaragua

Passports: Students are responsible for obtaining their own passports. Passports can take several weeks to receive. All participants should have their passports in hand at the March meeting.
Insurance: Participants must make arrangements with their insurance providers to have overseas medical and accident insurance. Supplemental medical insurance with specific overseas medical coverage is recommended.
Immunizations: Participants need to make an appointment at the Student Health Clinic, Covenant's Occupational Health Service, or their own medical health care professional to receive all the immunizations they will need to travel in Nicaragua. This should be done as soon as possible since some immunizations such as Hepatitis A and B require more than one injection. Take a copy of your immunizations from your personal physician with you to help determine if some booster shots are needed.
Remember you are ambassadors of the United States and the University of Northern Iowa. Participants must adhere to the laws and regulations of both the United States and Nicaragua.
The group is limited to 15 participants plus the faculty member. Enrollment will be on a first come, first serve basis. A waiting list will be kept in the event someone has to cancel prior to leaving.
Registration forms are available from the International Programs office located at Gilchrist or CBB 261. Otherwise, you may download it from another page on this website.
