To do this, PLS Support Services coordinates available school, university, and community resources to meet the diverse needs of individual students in the least restrictive environment.

Background

Price Laboratory School (PLS) is a laboratory school on the campus of University of Northern Iowa that educates children from birth (Child Development Center) through 12th grade. PLS plays a central role in the University of Northern Iowa Teacher Education program, and provides professional outreach instruction and activities regionally, throughout the state, nationally, and internationally.

Price Laboratory School Support Services was created in 1995 when PLS withdrew from AEA- 267 Support Services. An extended history of PLS Support Services can be found in Appendix A. Housing PLS Support Services in the university has increased the collaboration with other departments in the university. This has allowed expanded services for the needs of students experiencing difficulties. This Building Equity Plan describes those services as they currently exist.
